Chidimma Adetshina to Represent Taraba at Miss Universe Nigeria

Miss South African contestant Chidimma Adetshina, amidst controversy, has now transitioned to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, representing Taraba State.

Chidimma, who was born in Soweto at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in 2001, comes from a mixed heritage. Her father hails from the Igbo tribe, while her mother, originally Mozambican, is now a naturalized citizen of South Africa.

Questions surrounding her nationality during the Miss South Africa competition sparked debates, leading to an investigation by the South African Ministry of Home Affairs. Consequently, Chidimma chose to withdraw from the contest and subsequently received an invitation to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant in 2024.

The organisers of Miss Universe Nigeria officially presented Chidimma, also known as Miss Taraba with contestant number 25, on Friday through their website announcement.

The organisers captioned, “Meet CHIDIMMA ADETSHINA (@chichi_vanessa) representing MISS TARABA STATE.”
