Appeal to Ohinoyi for Assistance in Reclaiming Campus Land

Prof. Salisu Ogbo, the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, has reached out to the Ohinoyi of Ebira land for help in addressing the alleged encroachment on the school’s land at the Itakpe satellite campus.

The appeal was made during a courtesy visit by the institution’s management team to HRM Dr Ahmed-Tijani Anaje at his palace in Okene.

Emphasizing that over N7 billion has been invested in the Itakpe satellite campus inherited from Kwara State, the Rector highlighted ongoing encroachment issues, security challenges, and vandalism of valuable assets.

He mentioned receiving threats from individuals, including prominent figures, who have encroached on the land, urging them to vacate the premises and abide by the institution’s ownership rights.

Additionally, the Rector urged the encroachers to prioritize peace and avoid conflict that could hinder the campus’s development.

Dr Ahmed-Tijani Anaje, responding as the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, expressed his commitment to promoting peace and safeguarding the community’s interests. He requested the school to provide relevant documents to aid in investigating the encroachment claims.

Assuring transparency in handling the matter, the Ohinoyi pledged to take necessary actions if the accused parties are found guilty, emphasizing his dedication to fostering peace and progress in Ebira land.
