US-Made Missiles Targeting Crimea Bridge Repelled by Russia

A recent statement released by Russia revealed that they successfully defended the Crimea bridge against an attack involving 12 US-made missiles. The iconic bridge was constructed under the direction of President Vladimir Putin following the annexation of the peninsula.

According to the defense ministry, air defenses were effectively deployed to dismantle the strike utilizing 12 ATACMS missiles manufactured in the US. Notably, all incoming missiles were intercepted and neutralized.

The bridge, which was inaugurated in 2018 by Putin, serves as a vital link connecting Kerch in Crimea with the Krasnodar region in southern Russia.

Since the commencement of Moscow’s military operations in February 2022, Kyiv has made numerous attempts to target the Kerch Bridge with attacks.

Additionally, Russia reported that naval drones heading towards Crimea in the Black Sea were thwarted by helicopters that destroyed five of them.

In a reaction to a prior incident, the Kremlin had warned the US of potential repercussions and summoned its ambassador after attributing a missile strike on Crimea’s Sevastopol, which resulted in casualties, to Ukraine with US involvement.
