Sokunbi takes over as FRSC sector commander in Osun


The appointment of Mr. Sokunbi as the new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Osun State

Mr. Taofeeq Sokunbi has assumed duty as the newly appointed Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Osun State.

Confirmation of the appointment was made by the command’s spokesperson, Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi, in a statement released in Osogbo on Thursday.

Replacing Mr. Inyang Umoh, who has been redeployed to Rivers State, Daily Post reported the announcement.

A seasoned administrator, Mr. Sokunbi joined the FRSC in 1996 and has held various roles nationwide, including positions in Ogoja and Jigawa Commands.

Emphasizing the need for FRSC personnel in the state to support the new sector commander in achieving set objectives, Ogungbemi’s statement read.

“He previously served as the Staff Zonal Data Centre at Lokoja and Ilorin before his subsequent posting to the ABA Information Processing Centre (IPC).

“Born in Ebute Metta, Lagos State, Mr. Sokunbi comes from the family of High Chief Kolawole and Madam Funmilayo Sokunbi on July 22, 1970.

“Hailing from Abeokuta South Local Government area of Ogun, he started his education at Shiloh Primary School before moving on to Vetland Grammar School, Agege, Lagos State.”

Ogungbemi also disclosed that the new Sector Commander obtained his first Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Joseph Ayo-Babalola University in lkeji Arakeji, Osun State.
