Yomi Fabiyi Demands Protest Action on Mohbad’s Death Anniversary

In a recent post on his Instagram page, popular Nigerian actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi has called for a protest to mark the first anniversary of singer Mohbad’s death.

Fabiyi is urging Nigerians to show up at the upcoming court session for the coroner’s inquest and is suggesting the organization of protests around Mohbad’s death anniversary if substantial progress is not made during the next hearing.

He emphasized, “Let’s peacefully gather at the court and participate in the next coroner’s inquest, voicing our demands on this matter. If no significant developments occur, we will focus on the one-year anniversary.”

It may be recalled that Mohbad, a former artist under the Marlian record label, passed away in mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023.

In response to the social media uproar surrounding his death, the Lagos State Police Command established a 13-member special investigative team to look into the incident.

The deceased’s body underwent an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on September 21, 2023, after being exhumed.

When the pathologist presented the findings to the coroner’s court several months later, it was revealed that the cause of Mohbad’s death could not be determined due to decomposition of the body.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the results, Mohbad’s family demanded an independent autopsy be conducted.
