RCCG City of David Welcomes Pastor Kayode Pitan as New Leader

Recently, the Redeemed Christian Church of God appointed Pastor Kayode Pitan as the new pastor of the City of David Parish in Lagos.

He takes over from Pastor Charles Kpandei, who had been serving as the interim pastor after Pastor Idowu Iluyomade was suspended due to certain allegations.

Reports from Church Times Nigeria revealed that Pitan’s appointment was formalized by the church’s governing council during a convention.

Pitan, who previously led the Tabernacle of David in Region 51, brings a wealth of corporate experience to his new role, including his time as a Regional Pastor.

His oversight now extends to Region 20, with the City of David as its headquarters.

Meanwhile, Pastor Ben Akabueze assumes the role of Assistant Pastor in Charge of Region 20, while Kpandei returns to head Region 11 in Lekki.

Pitan’s appointment symbolizes the start of a new era at the City of David, marking the end of Iluyomade’s tenure.

Pitan’s journey includes a significant career in banking, notably as the former Managing Director and CEO of the Bank of Industry (BoI), where he championed industrialization and SME support.

His impactful leadership at BoI garnered much praise before his resignation in 2023 amidst a government reshuffle under President Bola Tinubu.
