New Secretary to Edo State Government appointed by Obaseki following Osarodion Ogie’s resignation

Joseph Eboigbe has been appointed as the new Secretary to the State Government by the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki.

According to reports from NewsNow, Eboigbe takes over from Barrister Osarodion Ogie, who recently stepped down from the position to pursue his political ambitions as the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the upcoming Edo State governorship election on September 21, 2024.

Crusoe Osagie, the Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media, made the announcement of Eboigbe’s appointment in a statement.

The appointment is effective immediately, as confirmed by Osagie.

Having previously served as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Economic Planning and later as Commissioner for Finance, Eboigbe brings a wealth of experience to his new role as SSG.

With a 15-year background at Deloitte and holding an MSc in Leadership and Strategy from the London Business School, Eboigbe is well-equipped to continue the Governor’s Finishing Strong agenda.

In the statement, Osagie also acknowledged Osarodion Ogie’s resignation, noting the governor’s acceptance of Ogie’s decision to pursue the position of Deputy Governor of Edo State.

Governor Obaseki expressed his gratitude towards Ogie for his dedication and loyalty in driving forward the vision of a vibrant and prosperous state during his administration over the past seven years.

He extended his best wishes to Ogie in his new endeavors, trusting that Ogie’s experience will be instrumental in serving the people of Edo State.
