Welcome of the Governing Council at Ayede Poly

The esteemed Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, located in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, will be arriving on campus for the first time this Monday. This visit marks a significant milestone for the only federal polytechnic in Oyo State since its inauguration in Abuja last month.

The entire polytechnic community, under the leadership of the respected rector, Dr. Taofeek Abdul-Hameed, has eagerly awaited the arrival of the second Governing Council for their first meeting, which is the sixth in succession since the institution’s establishment in 2021.

The contributions of the pioneer Governing Council, led by the esteemed Prof. Clement Dakas (SAN) and other eminent Nigerians, have been invaluable in shaping the institution to its current level. Recognition must also be given to other key officers and staff who have navigated the challenges of pioneering the institution.

The relentless efforts of the previous council and management have led to several achievements, including being the first to invite the National Board for Technical Education for resource inspection. This resulted in the approval of various programs and departments.

With the appointment of a new highly resourceful council led by Mrs. Ademubowale Adelabu, comprising individuals with diverse experiences, the polytechnic is poised for further growth in meeting societal needs for entrepreneurship and skills development.

As the council members visit Ayede Poly for the first time, we extend our warm wishes for a safe trip and call upon all stakeholders to support the institution’s development plans.

We urge government stakeholders, private organizations, and philanthropists to contribute towards the institution’s progress. The institution has already received generous donations from members of the Ogbomoso community, demonstrating their commitment to its growth.

Traditional institutions play a crucial role in supporting education, and we anticipate significant contributions from leaders such as the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Olaoye. Additionally, ongoing projects at the permanent site require the new council’s attention to facilitate infrastructure development and access roads.

It is imperative for the management and the council to engage with the Oyo State government to address key infrastructure challenges. We call upon Governor Seyi Makinde to support the polytechnic in overcoming these obstacles and advancing its mission.
