Call from Oborevwori to NDDC for Completion of Ongoing Projects

The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has emphasized the importance of the Niger Delta Development Commission completing all ongoing projects in the state.

Oborevwori also stressed the need for the NDDC to undertake projects that will enhance the quality of life for the region’s residents. He advocated for a strategic and collaborative approach between the commission and the Niger Delta states to address the challenges facing the region.

During a courtesy visit by the NDDC management team at the Delta State Government House in Asaba, the governor expressed his willingness to collaborate and support the commission in accelerating the development of the Niger Delta region, as reported by the Director of Corporate Affairs of the commission, Seledi Thompson-Wakama.

Oborevwori assured, “We are prepared to work with all development agencies dedicated to the advancement of the Niger Delta region, and we will assist you in fulfilling your responsibilities.”

In response to the NDDC’s proposal for cooperation in the implementation of the Omadino-Okeronkoko-Escravos Road project, Oborevwari welcomed the partnership.

The Governor advised the commission to prevent project duplication and emphasized the importance of consulting with states before commencing projects within their jurisdictions.

NDDC Managing Director, Samuel Ogbuku, stated earlier that the commission would enhance collaboration with development partners, including state governments and stakeholders, to achieve its goals.

Ogbuku assured the Governor of the commission’s commitment to working harmoniously with the governors in the nine states under the NDDC’s purview.

He highlighted the necessity of reactivating the NDDC Advisory Committee, as mandated by its Establishment Act, to provide guidance and oversight of the commission’s activities.
