Commitment to Enhancing the Creative Sector at the Osun Osogbo Festival

In a move to revamp and broaden the creative sector encompassing tourism, entertainment, and crafts in Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke has restated his administration’s resolve.

During the grand culmination of the 2024 Osun Osogbo festival at the Osun Osogbo Groove, the Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, made this commitment.

Adeleke emphasized, “Our Government is dedicated to the enhancement of diverse sectors of the economy. The creative industry is a focus due to its capacity for job creation and revenue generation.”

He added, “We are backing the private sector to lead the expansion agenda of the creative sector, propelling its revitalization. There’s vast potential in the tourism sector that we aim to leverage. Osun, the origin of the Yoruba race and home to significant Yoruba cultural assets, is set on becoming a prime tourism hub locally and internationally.”

Regarding infrastructure upgrades at the Osun Osogbo Groove, Adeleke explained, “Our efforts include last year’s support for rehabilitating the arena and stream cleaning by the site organizer. Currently, we are mapping out the refurbishment of internal pathway networks within the groove.”

He also extended congratulations to the Ataoja of Osogbo land, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, for a successful staging of the festival. Adeleke further expressed well wishes to all Osun Osogbo devotees globally and locally.

“We are committed to backing cultural festivities for local advancement and the preservation of our heritage,” Adeleke affirmed.
