Investigation Launched Into Potential Hit-and-Run Involving Man United’s De Ligt

An investigation has been initiated regarding a potential hit-and-run incident involving Matthijs de Ligt, the top transfer target for Manchester United. The incident is said to have taken place in Bavaria.

Currently representing German Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich, De Ligt made his move from Juventus in 2022.

According to reports from German outlet BILD, the Dutch defender collided with a parked vehicle near his club’s training facility.

Instead of reporting the incident to the authorities, De Ligt allegedly left the scene, prompting a witness to contact the police. Subsequently, De Ligt’s vehicle was towed away.

A legal expert from Munich mentioned that the player could face a fine for his actions, with the possibility of a maximum penalty of three years in prison, depending on the circumstances of the incident.

The key aspect in such cases seems to revolve around whether the collision was deliberate or accidental.

As of now, the police have not provided any official statements concerning the matter.
