The Kano State Executive Council has given the green light for a budget of N2,665,646,756.44 to be allocated to various projects within the state, aiming to boost infrastructure and public services.

During the 17th Executive Council meeting, Governor Abba Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin, revealed this development on Wednesday. The projects are geared towards promoting sustainable development and enhancing the safety of residents statewide.

Addressing both present requirements and future needs, Dawakin stated, “The comprehensive efforts aim to uplift public services and infrastructure in Kano State.”

Among the major projects approved is the transformation of part of the Kano State Library into an office complex for the Ministry of Transport and offices of Special Advisers to Governor Abba Yusuf. This initiative is budgeted at N268,160,455.84.

Describing the renovation, Dawakin mentioned, “The modernization will create efficient workspaces, enhancing government operations and service delivery.”

Furthermore, Dawakin highlighted, “The Council has also sanctioned the relocation, reinstallation, and enhancement of the Golden Jubilee Monument at Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso Bridge along Emir’s Palace Road, with an estimated cost of N164,949,693.46.”

He also noted that the infrastructural revamp encompasses various other projects like the laterite filling of a 2-km road from Riga to Karkari in Gwarzo Local Government Area (N43,382,210.10) and the validation and approval for pending payment for the construction of Dangote female hostel and landscaping at the Kano State University of Science & Technology, Wudil.
