Adams Oshiomhole: Military Takeover and Change in Tinubu Government Not Acceptable

Adams Oshiomhole, the Senator representing Edo North, emphasized on Wednesday that Nigeria does not entertain the idea of a military takeover.

He stated that it is implausible for an unidentified group to demand a change in government.

Members of the protest movement EndBadGovernanceInNigeria had sought the removal of President Bola Tinubu’s administration due to the prevailing challenges in the country.

During an appearance on Arise News Morning Show, the stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) remarked, “There is no space for regime change or military intervention. A vague group cannot legitimately call for a change in government.”

He praised Tinubu for his composure in addressing the concerns raised, stating, “Tinubu displayed great patience and responded by acknowledging the grievances, but highlighting the importance of inaugurating industries to combat hunger.”

Oshiomhole added, “I never advocated for a regime change when I was involved in protests, but now I observe politicians attempting to exploit these demonstrations.”

He further noted, “A peaceful protest could serve as a platform to push for a change in regime.”
