President Tinubu Names Heads of NSIPA and Other Agencies within Humanitarian Ministry

In an announcement made by Ajuei Ngelale, spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu, it was revealed that Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of seven individuals to lead various agencies and programs under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.

The newly appointed individuals are: Badamasi Lawal as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency, Lami Bello as the head of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Funmilola Olotu as the Programme Manager for the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office, Aishat Alubankudi as the Programme Manager for Grant for Vulnerable Groups, Aderemi Adebowale as the Programme Manager for Home Grown School Feeding, Abdullahi Imam as the Programme Manager for the National Cash Transfer Office, and Ayuba Gufwan as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for People with Disabilities.

President Tinubu charged the new appointees with the responsibility to deliver necessary assistance to the people of Nigeria and ensure the efficiency of humanitarian and social development initiatives.

These appointments follow the suspension of Dr. Betta Edu as minister eight months ago due to a controversy surrounding the transfer of N585.189 million to a private account. Edu’s suspension coincided with the suspension of Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programme Agency, for alleged misappropriation of N40 billion.

Meanwhile, the public awaits updates on the investigations conducted by anti-graft agencies regarding Edu and Shehu.
