Foreign national arrested for supporting flying Russian flag in Kano

On Tuesday, the Kano Police Command apprehended a man from Niger suspected of being the individual responsible for sewing the Russian flags that were raised by demonstrators in the state.

Additionally, authorities have detained 76 individuals who have connections to the 25 Russian flags that were recently exhibited by protesters in various areas of the bustling city of Kano.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, the State Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo, mentioned,

“The individuals were caught with 25 Russian flags, and their arrest is linked to a sedition case. They were captured at different spots throughout the city and have been moved to Abuja for further inquiries,” Dogo explained.

Dogo encouraged locals to back the security forces by providing any information that could assist in catching those responsible for the recent widespread looting of public property.

He reassured the public that law enforcement personnel and other security agencies would continue to have a noticeable presence both within and outside the city to uphold order.

Furthermore, Dogo made an appeal to parents to supervise their children’s actions and conduct, cautioning that individuals inciting disturbances would face arrest and legal action.
