Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, has cautioned the team that no player is guaranteed a starting position.
Talking about Conor Gallagher’s upcoming departure, Maresca emphasized the importance of every squad member fighting for their position.
He expressed that designating anyone as a definite starter in the team is considered “disrespectful”.
“Nobody has a secured starting spot. Each player needs to put in the effort every day and show me why they deserve to be in the lineup,” Maresca informed the press.
“I firmly believe that every player is part of the squad.”
“I believe it is unfair to label Conor, Enzo Fernandez, or Moi Caicedo as starters. It shows disrespect towards the other squad members, as they are all important contributors.”
