Fani-Kayode: Matawalle, COAS, Musa have no plans to oust Tinubu

Femi Fani-Kayode, the former Aviation Minister, has dismissed rumors suggesting that President Bola Tinubu is at risk of being overthrown by his Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and Minister of State of Defence, Bello Matawalle, in a bid to establish a military government.

Fani-Kayode refuted the validity of a video purportedly showing Musa plotting to seize power from Tinubu and take on the role of Head of State.

Speaking on X platform, the APC stalwart alleged that the video’s intent was to provoke Tinubu into dismissing some of his key appointees.

Expressing his concern, Fani-Kayode stated, “The spread of deceitful and malicious fabrications through a carefully orchestrated campaign seeks to breed distrust, fear, discord, and chaos within our ranks.

False narratives and manipulated videos circulating on social media claim that General Christopher Musa is on the brink of assuming leadership and Minister Bello Matawalle is colluding with the military regime of Niger Republic to undermine the Tinubu administration. These baseless claims and absurd lies are clearly aimed at causing rifts within the government and influencing the President to dismiss some of his most capable, loyal, and outspoken supporters, thereby undermining his authority.”

Fani-Kayode cautioned, “President Tinubu must not succumb to this deceptive ploy.”
