Regina Otu signs two-year deal with Fenerbahçe

Fenerbahçe SK has officially welcomed Regina Otu, the versatile midfielder of the Super Falcons, to their team. The player has inked a two-year contract with the club, as reported by PUNCH Sports Extra.

The Turkish club made the announcement on their website, sharing a photo of the 28-year-old Falcons player signing the agreement.

“Fenerbahçe Petrol Ofisi Women’s Football Team has enlisted Regina Ibiang Otu, who previously played for AS Saint-Etienne in the French league, into their squad,” stated the club.

“The 28-year-old midfielder, who also represents the Nigerian Women’s National Team, has committed to the yellow and navy colors for a duration of 2 years.

“We extend a warm ‘Welcome to our Club’ to our new player and wish her abundant success donning our distinctive striped jersey.”

Otu has made the move to the Turkish side on a free transfer following the conclusion of her contract with AS Saint-Etienne in the previous season.

During her time with the French club, the midfielder played a crucial role, featuring in all 20 league matches and netting a single goal.

She departed the club alongside fellow Nigerian teammates Yewande Balogun and Amanda Mbadi (who now competes for RCD Espanyol Femení) after their contracts expired.

Otu was among the four reserve players chosen by Coach Randy Waldrum for the Paris 2024 Olympics, where the Super Falcons faced defeat in all three group stage encounters, scoring one goal while conceding five, leading to their elimination from the Women’s Football Tournament.
