Concerns raised by Sowore and Adeyanju over alleged harassment of protesters by Police and DSS during EndBadGovernance demonstrations in FCT

During the ongoing EndBadGovernanceInNigeria demonstration, there are claims that protesters in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, are being harassed by the Nigeria Police Force.

Omoyele Sowore, an activist and politician, has accused both the police and the Department of State Services, DSS, of harassing demonstrators at the MKO Abiola stadium.

In a recent post on X, Sowore stated: “BREAKING: @PoliceNG have arrived at the Abuja #EndBadGovernaceInNigerianow location to confront activists. @OfficialDSSNG are also reportedly on their way with government-backed individuals to carry out similar actions.”

Supporting Sowore’s assertions, activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju also mentioned police harassment of protesters at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja in X.

The nationwide protest, which commenced on Thursday, has seen Nigerians expressing their grievances about the harsh living conditions in the country.

Reports have surfaced of police using force against protesters nationwide, leading to some fatalities.
