Commending the inhabitants of Ondo State, particularly the youth, for choosing not to engage in the nationwide hunger protest, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa emphasized the peaceful demeanor of the state’s people.

Aiyedatiwa lauded the residents’ decision to abstain from the protest, highlighting that it underscored the state’s reputation as one of the most serene in the country.

The state’s populace did not partake in the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protest that kicked off on August 1.

In a message conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, Aiyedatiwa praised the people for adhering to his advice to maintain calm amid the looming nationwide demonstrations.

Expressing gratitude, the Governor stated, “I want to extend my appreciation to the wonderful people of Ondo State for upholding peace and refraining from joining the nationwide protests.”

He further added, “Despite the acknowledged economic hardships affecting our nation and citizens, I am thankful that they followed our plea for tranquility.”

Aiyedatiwa also thanked various segments of the population, including students, youths, women, artisans, public servants, and civil society organizations, for honoring their commitment to preserving peace.

He concluded by stating, “In the forthcoming weeks and months, the implementation of diverse policies, initiatives, and projects spanning different sectors, aimed at enhancing the lives of our people, will begin to yield the much-anticipated positive outcomes.”
