Osun State Police Issues Warning Concerning Ritualistic Activities Linked to Yahoo Boys

Residents of Osun State have been cautioned by the Osun State Police Command to remain vigilant against the suspicious activities of internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as Yahoo Boys.

In an official statement endorsed by the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba, the Command Spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, highlighted the necessity of the alert due to the alarming trend observed in the activities of these individuals.

Opalola disclosed that the Yahoo Boys have advanced their criminal acts to involve rituals, forming malevolent schemes to entice and harm unsuspecting victims, particularly targeting women to harvest their body parts for ritualistic practices.

The statement emphasized, “The Osun State Police Command is urging the general public, especially young women, to be cautious of the operations of internet fraudsters, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’.”

“This alert/advisory comes as the Command has noted troubling strategies/trends employed by the Yahoo Boys in our community.

“These scammers have expanded their criminal activities to include ritualistic acts, plotting heinous schemes to entice and tragically harm innocent victims, mainly females, with the aim of procuring their body parts for ritualistic purposes.”

Encouraging individuals to provide crucial information to the police, Opalola assured that CP Umar Abba remains dedicated to safeguarding the well-being and security of all residents and visitors within the state. She also confirmed that the Police Command is actively pursuing and prosecuting any individuals found complicit in such actions.
