The Sultan of Sokoto urges Imams and Muslim Leaders to intervene in the EndBadGovernance Protest

Amid the ongoing protests against bad governance in Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, has made a plea to Jumu’ah mosque Imams and Muslim leaders to help restore calm and encourage the Ummah to prioritize peace over chaos.

In a statement released by the Secretary-General of JNI, Prof. Khalid Aliyu, Abubakar emphasized the importance of ending the protests and initiating dialogue.

He stressed the need for Nigeria to achieve stability before identifying as proud Nigerians.

Abubakar called on mosque Imams and Muslim leaders to use Friday prayers as an opportunity to promote peace and discourage disruptive activities that could hinder congregational prayers.

He also requested all Nigerians to continue praying for divine intervention in the current national crisis.

Thursday marked the commencement of the #EndBadGovernance protests in Nigeria, which led to widespread violence and looting in major cities, resulting in casualties among protesters.
