A Confession by House Help in the Murder Case of Justice Ajumogobia’s Daughter, Revealed by Police Source

According to a police source, one of the domestic workers employed by Aribemchukwu, the deceased daughter of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, has confessed to being involved in her boss’s murder.

PUNCH Metro reported that the victim, popularly known as Chuchu, was allegedly killed at her residence in Parkview Estate, located in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.

Although a family member stated that the incident occurred on Tuesday night, the lifeless body of the deceased was discovered outside her residence gate on Wednesday morning.

The three domestic workers, including the house help, a security guard, and a driver, were subsequently arrested in connection with the murder.

An undisclosed police source provided updates on the progress of the investigation, revealing that the house help confessed to the crime during interrogation.

The source also stated that the victim was killed inside her room and her body was then dragged outside the gate and dumped there.

The suspects attempted to clean up the bloodstains but overlooked some spots, as the crime was committed at night.

The police source disclosed, “The deceased was murdered in her room, and her body was dragged to the front of the gate to make it seem like she was killed there. Despite their efforts to clean up, some bloodstains were missed. They did not thoroughly clean up due to the nighttime event.”

“The house help did not deny the events. She admitted, ‘We did it, we did it,’ during questioning, and her statements aligned with the evidence found at the scene,” the police source revealed.

Additionally, it was reported that the suspects immediately took all the valuables belonging to the deceased after carrying out the crime.

The source also confirmed that all three domestic workers were hired simultaneously a week prior to the incident.

The late Aribemchukwu was a doctor and had recently gotten married before her untimely demise.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the investigation is still ongoing.

He mentioned, “The investigation is still in progress. Any new developments will be shared as soon as they are available.”
