Plateau State Police Commissioner Calls for Maintenance of Peace by Protesters

Urging protesters in Plateau State to uphold the current atmosphere of peace, Commissioner of Police Olugbemiga Adesina has emphasized the importance of maintaining tranquility.

In a statement released on behalf of the Commissioner by Police Command Spokesman Alabo Alfred, the call for peace came after the initial phase of EndBadGovernance demonstrations concluded peacefully in Jos, the state capital.

Alabo urged protesters to collaborate with the police and other security agencies in ensuring the safety of lives and property.

Highlighting the ongoing nationwide End Bad Governance protest, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, PSC, reiterated the necessity of peaceful protests in Plateau State.

The CP appealed to protesters to cooperate with law enforcement and adhere to peaceful demonstration practices, emphasizing the importance of maintaining order and preventing any violence or property damage.

Encouraging residents to report any suspicious activities and urging the public to report any misconduct by officers within the state, the Plateau Police Chief underscored the need for vigilance and collaboration in ensuring a secure environment.

During the protest in Jos, which saw the participation of numerous residents, groups, and associations, no incidents were reported on the first day. The demonstrators have expressed their commitment to continuing the protest until the demands for improved living conditions are met.
