10 Graduates Empowered by Nestle

Nestle Nigeria Plc recently celebrated the graduation of 10 youths from its Technical Training Centre, showcasing its dedication to youth empowerment and skills development in Nigeria.

During the ‘Nestle Technical Training Centre graduation’ held in Ogun State, Nestle Nigeria’s outgoing Factory Manager, Ibukun-Olu Ipinmoye, commended the graduates for their commitment over the past 18 months. He praised their demonstration of character, learning abilities, and adherence to the company’s safety protocols.

Ipinmoye emphasized Nestle’s commitment to equipping the younger generation with new skills to keep them competitive in the ever-evolving job market. He also expressed the company’s dedication to supporting the local community and ensuring sustainable practices.

The Managing Director of Nestle Nigeria, Wassim El-Husseini, highlighted the significant impact of the training program, mentioning, “This year alone, we have had a total of 30 graduates. To date, more than 198 individuals have completed this program, with over 70 of them being employed by Nestle this year.”

El-Husseini reiterated the company’s focus on investing in youth development, stating, “Our goal is to provide internship opportunities that equip young individuals for success in the corporate world. We have reached out to over 16,000 youths with employment opportunities and impact around 25,000 youths annually through this initiative.”

Nestle Nigeria’s Country HR Manager, Alhaji Shakiru, underlined the company’s ongoing commitment to youth training initiatives, emphasizing the importance of consistency in achieving greatness.

Shakiru revealed, “Nestle has a longstanding track record of supporting graduate training programs. We recently hired 20 individuals in April who have since become financially empowered. By September, we expect to graduate another 20 individuals. Our focus is on building strong capabilities in youth to drive Nigeria’s progress.”

Reflecting on their journey, Nestle alum Moshood Kilaso encouraged the graduates to maintain resilience in their roles, advising them to always strive for excellence.

Ezekiel Bibire, one of the graduates, shared his thoughts on the challenging but rewarding experience, saying, “The road was tough, but we have reached this milestone with newfound knowledge. We are grateful for the skills we have acquired.”
