During the recently concluded Seplat Technology Summit in Lagos, the CEO of Seplat Energy, Roger Brown, underscored the critical role of technological progress in propelling advancements in the energy sector.

Represented by the COO of Seplat Energy, Samson Ezugworie, Brown revealed the company’s utilization of technology to address industry challenges.

Our focus is on enhancing safety, cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and speed within our domain, and expanding into new frontiers. This gathering aims to devise enduring solutions to the persistent issues in our sector, paving the way for growth and success,” expressed Brown.

Themed “Leveraging Technology across the Energy Value Chain to Unlock Transformational Potential,” the summit attracted key stakeholders, tech enthusiasts, students, and professionals worldwide to delve into innovative solutions and progressions within the oil and gas industry.

The event spanned two days, centering on tackling the prevalent challenges encountered by the energy sector. Participants were introduced to technologies targeting the overhaul of upstream operations, advancement in renewable energy, and optimization of gas transportation networks.

The CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Farouk Ahmed, represented by Senior Technical Adviser Steve Ayuba, stressed the significance of cooperation and innovation among industry players and regulatory bodies.

“We recognize that technology plays a pivotal role in streamlining business operations. Within the regulatory framework, technology acts as a facilitator to enhance the impact we aim to create, ensuring the delivery of exceptional regulatory services across the value chain,” Ahmed explained.

Effiong Okon, the Managing Director of ANOH Gas Processing Company Limited, highlighted the multifaceted role of technology in streamlining oil and gas exploration processes, making them more efficient and secure.
