Residents, especially women, in Osun State have been warned by the State Police Command to be cautious of internet fraudsters, commonly known as yahoo boys, who have extended their criminal activities to include ritual killings.
In a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, it was revealed that yahoo boys in the state have intensified their unlawful activities by incorporating ritualistic practices.
Opalola mentioned that these yahoo boys use various deceitful tactics to lure unsuspecting victims, mostly women, to isolated locations where they are killed, with their body parts harvested for ritualistic purposes.
“Osun State Police Command is issuing this warning to the public, especially young girls, regarding the activities of yahoo boys,” she said.
“This warning is crucial as the command has observed troubling methods utilized by yahoo boys in our society.”
The statement emphasized the commitment of the Command to ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors in the state, with a pledge to continue working diligently to apprehend and prosecute anyone involved in criminal acts.
