Organizers cautioned by Asari Dokubo against bringing hunger protests to Niger Delta

A stern warning has been issued by former Niger Delta militant, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, to those planning a nationwide protest against hardship, advising them to avoid extending it to the Niger Delta region.

Speaking at the Niger Delta Sensitisation Conference for Ethnic Nationalities, Youths, and Women in Port Harcourt with the theme ‘Come let us build together’, Asari-Dokubo cautioned that the motives of the protest organizers did not align with the issues faced by the people of the Niger Delta.

He accused the organizers of being solely interested in exploiting the resources of the Niger Delta and labeled them as ‘anarchists’, warning them to brace for resistance.

Asserting his stance, Asari-Dokubo declared, “Those who stand with me and those devoted to the Niger Delta’s welfare will not participate in any protest. That is non-negotiable.

“While everyone has the liberty to protest, I reserve the right to oppose such actions. Your rights end where mine begins.

“I am against protests. During the previous administration (alluding to Jonathan), they protested. Now, with another representative from our region, they are gearing up to protest again. That is the reality,” he emphasized.
