Senator Okpebholo: Action, Not Fancy Words, Will Restore Edo

In his bid for the governorship election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, representing the All Progressives Congress, emphasized his commitment to rectifying the alleged mismanagement by the current administration without relying on grandiloquent language.

Despite taunts from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party about his English proficiency, Okpebholo maintained during a session with journalists in Benin that linguistic prowess is not a prerequisite for solving Edo State’s challenges.

His primary goal is to revitalize Edo State and liberate it from self-serving interests.

Speaking on his vision if elected, Okpebholo stated, “I am focused on implementing effective changes, not relying on eloquent speeches. Edo needs a bold leader dedicated to the welfare of its people.”

Highlighting the financial situation of the state, he added, “With a monthly allocation of N11bn and a debt of N135bn, Edo’s future is at risk. I aim to repair the state without compromising our children’s future.”

He expressed, “I am here to transform Edo into a place free from violence, where industries thrive, infrastructure is maintained, and education flourishes with qualified educators.”

As a servant leader, Okpebholo pledged to lead with practicality, empathy, and a genuine care for the populace.

Echoing these sentiments, Kassim Afegbua, the media consultant for the Edo State APC Governorship Campaign Council, stressed the need for a governor with emotional intelligence to steer Edo in the right direction.
