Tragic helicopter crash claims two lives in Ireland

Authorities in Ireland have confirmed that two individuals lost their lives in a devastating helicopter crash that occurred in central Ireland. The incident, which took place near Mullingar, approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of Dublin, involved a small single-engine helicopter colliding with a farm building on Tuesday around 15:30 GMT.

According to reports from AFP, the aircraft tragically crashed onto the roof of a pig-farm outhouse. The Irish police statement mentioned that both occupants of the helicopter were fatally injured in the crash.

The victims have been identified as an Irish male in his 40s and another individual believed to be from Eastern Europe, also in his 40s. The police have stated that both individuals were pronounced dead at the crash site.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit, responsible for investigating serious air incidents in Ireland, confirmed that the helicopter involved was a single-engine aircraft.
