BREAKING: EndBadGovernance: Organisers refuse IGP’s suggestion for limited protests BREAKING: EndBadGovernance: Organisers reject IGP’s proposal for confined protests

Declining the offer made by Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun during a meeting, the organisers of the upcoming nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest slated for August 1 stood firm in their decision.

Egbetokun had put forward the idea of limited protests in specific locations and cautioned against street demonstrations.

During the meeting, the IGP expressed his concerns saying, “It is not advisable to go on street processions because as you are planning peaceful protests, some are planning violence.”

However, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a legal representative of the Take It Back Movement – one of the key organizing groups for the protest, opposed the suggestion put forth by the IGP.

A section of the Nigerian population is set to hit the streets on August 1 to voice their grievances against the prevailing difficulties in the nation.

Despite appeals made by both federal and state authorities, the organisers remain resolute in their decision to commence the demonstrations from August 1st to 10th.
