Senator Ndume Refuses Newly Assigned Office at the National Assembly

Upon allocation of a new office by the Senate Service Committee, Senator Ali Ndume from Borno South has expressed his rejection of the space.

In his view, the office does not align with his status and standing as a highly ranked senator.

The decision of the legislator was communicated through a letter signed by his Chief Confidential Secretary, Yati Shuaibu Gawu.

The correspondence states: “I have been instructed to convey that Honorable Senator Mohammed All Ndume has turned down the assignment of office number 3.10 by the Committee.

“This is because office allocations are traditionally based on the hierarchy of senators.

“Senator Ndume, being the next most senior senator after Senator Ahmad Lawan, will only accept an office on the fourth floor.”

This development follows Ndume’s removal from his position as the Senate Chief Whip.

The Senate’s action came in response to Ndume’s criticism of the administration led by President Bola Tinubu, where he alleged that the government is being controlled by corrupt officials solely focused on looting public funds.
