Plans are in place for the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano to receive a makeover on its playing surface, as announced by the Kano State Government.
Being the official home turf of the Nigeria Premier Football League team, Kano Pillars, the stadium’s upgrade is highly anticipated.
In an official statement released by Hon Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, it was revealed that the renovations would be executed in stages.
Assurances have been given that the stadium will be fully revamped well before the upcoming NPFL season, which is scheduled to commence on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
