After their impressive win against Australia on Monday, D’Tigress point guard, Ezinne Kalu, believes the team is poised for success at the 2024 Olympic Games.
The African champions outplayed the world number three team with a final score of 75-62 in their opening match in Lille.
Kalu was instrumental in the victory with an outstanding performance of 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals.
Expressing her joy over the remarkable win, the 32-year-old also issued a warning to their opponents, stating that they detect vulnerability whenever they step onto the court.
“Our defensive strategy was unwavering. Our style of defense sets us apart,” Kalu revealed in an interview with FIBA.com.
“Whenever we play, we sense an opportunity to seize victory. Our unique defensive approach fuels our momentum and drives us forward.
“Despite Australia’s strategic adjustments in the second half, featuring experienced players and a skilled coach, we maintained our intensity and continued to push forward.”
