Super Eagles defender, Osayi-Samuel, on Fenerbahce’s new boss – Mourinho

Describing his new Fenerbahce manager, Jose Mourinho, Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel referred to him as “scary” but also acknowledges that working with Mourinho has boosted his self-confidence.

Osayi-Samuel joined the Turkish club in 2021 and has so far played 140 games, scoring seven goals and providing 13 assists.

Having been under the guidance of seven different coaches at Fenerbahce before this season, such as Emre Belözoğlu, Erol Bulut, Vítor Pereira, İsmail Kartal, Zeki Murat Göle, João de Deus, and Jorge Jesus, Osayi-Samuel found himself working with Mourinho this summer as the club aims to outshine Galatasaray.

Speaking to Fanatik, Osayi-Samuel shared, “Mourinho is intimidating yet very pleasant. It is a tremendous privilege to be under his tutelage.”

“I am eager to delve into the players’ history. His coaching instills a sense of self-assurance in me,” he added.

“I believe there is a great deal for me to absorb while collaborating with him this season.”
