The €50 million acquisition of Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna has drawn praise from Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, who lauded the player’s adaptability.
Capable of operating at both left-back and centre-back, Calafiori is set to strengthen the Gunners’ defensive line.
Arteta was questioned about where the 22-year-old might feature in his squad, which finished as runners-up in the previous two seasons.
In response, Arteta stated: “He will contribute in both areas given our tactical approach and strategic objectives for the team. His skill set aligns perfectly with our desired style of play.”
