Auto Spare Parts Dealers Reject Hunger Protest Plans

A press conference held in Lagos saw members of the Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, distancing themselves from an upcoming hunger protest set to begin on August 1.

The President of ASPAMDA, Ngozi Emechebe, voiced concerns that the proposed protest could potentially result in chaos, risking lives and properties.

Emechebe emphasized the importance of allowing President Bola Tinubu more time to improve the lives of Nigerians amidst the current challenges facing the country.

He added, “While acknowledging the existing challenges, it’s crucial to avoid exacerbating the situation with protests that could lead to loss of lives and properties. Let’s be patient with President Bola Tinubu, who has been in office for just over a year.”

“ASPMDA recognizes that the problems in Nigeria did not arise overnight. We believe that with the measures being implemented by President Tinubu, Nigeria will soon see progress. It’s a call to action for all Nigerians to collaborate with the president to achieve national success.”

“ASPAMDA is fully engaged in nation-building and every member is dedicated to the nation’s advancement. Rather than protests, our focus is on providing the necessary spare parts to ensure Nigerians can freely travel with their vehicles.”

Emechebe also praised Tinubu for initiating the deployment of Compressed Natural Gas buses through the Presidential CNG Initiative.
