Qualification Still Possible for Super Falcons According to Waldrum, Paris 2024 Olympics

Randy Waldrum, the head coach of Super Falcons, is positive about his team’s chances of securing a spot in the quarter-finals at the 2024 Olympic Games.

In Nantes on Sunday, the West Africans suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to the world champions Spain, marking their second defeat in Group C after a 1-0 loss to Brazil last Thursday.

To progress to the last eight, the Super Falcons must defeat Japan in their final group match on Wednesday.

Waldrum expresses confidence in his team’s ability to overcome the Asian champions.

He elaborated, “The way the matches played out, we still needed a positive result against Japan to have a chance of advancing. Whether we win, lose, or draw, the opportunity was still there.”

“I believe that if we defeat Japan, the outcome will be significant considering Canada’s group performance, as they currently hold six points,” added the American coach.
