Emergency Meeting Held by SGF, NSA, Wike, and Others Regarding Planned Nationwide Protest


Currently in session is a meeting led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, along with ministers to address the proposed nationwide protest denouncing economic challenges faced by Nigerian youths.

The closed-door meeting has brought together all 40 ministers serving in the president’s cabinet.

Sighted among the attendees are ministers such as Nyesom Wike (FCT), Yusuf Tuggar (Foreign Affairs), Zephaniah Jisalo (Special Duties), Tahir Mamman (Education), and Abubakar Bagudu (Budget and Planning).

Also present are Wale Edun (Finance), Mohammed Idris (Information), Bello Matawalle (Defence), David Umahi (Works), and the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, along with others.

It can be recalled that President Bola Tinubu recently appealed to Nigerians to set aside a planned ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest scheduled for August 1.

The protest, initiated by unidentified individuals or groups, has been gathering momentum on social media platforms and is set to take place in all states of the Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
