Snoop Dogg to Lead the Way with Olympic Torch at Opening Ceremony

Renowned American artist, Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, has been selected to carry the Olympic torch in Paris as a prelude to the opening ceremony.

The grand opening is scheduled for Friday, July 26, 2024, featuring more than 10,000 athletes cruising on boats along the Seine River.

Prior to the commencement of the ceremony, the rapper will be taking the torch on a route through the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis, a revelation made by the town’s mayor, Mathieu Hanotin, on his official channel.

Mayor Hanotin’s announcement read; “Saint Denis: the final stop before the majestic Eiffel Tower. Welcoming the internationally acclaimed @SnoopDogg for the ultimate leg of the Olympic Flame journey.”

Joining Snoop Dogg as fellow torchbearers are French rapper MC Solaar and the esteemed French actress Laetitia Casta.
