Chelsea still paying Graham Potter £200,000 a week

Chelsea will get almost £1 million if England decides to replace Gareth Southgate with Graham Potter.

Potter left the Blues last April after less than seven months in charge.

However, Mail Sport reports that the Premier League club remains obliged to pay his salary, believed to be around £200,000-a-week, until October.

If he is appointed England manager, the wage Chelsea pays Potter would then be deducted from the amount outstanding from Chelsea.

That means that should the Football Association appoint the 49-year-old in the near future, the Premier League side would receive a boost of close to £1m.

Chelsea paid Brighton around £21m in compensation for Potter and his backroom staff in September 2022.
