Ex-Borno Speaker’s two sons and others die in auto crash

The tragic news of the passing of former Commissioner of Education and Ex-Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Hon Musa Inuwa Kubo’s two sons, Adamu and Audi, has shocked many. The automobile accident also claimed the lives of two others, including Adamau Dan Hajoya. The accident occurred on the Kwaya-Kusar- Peta- Shani road, where their car lost control and collided with a heap of sand used for road construction. The entire tragic incident took place on Wednesday evening, December 14, 2022.

Sadly, all the victims were laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites on Thursday afternoon, December 15. The funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Shani. It was revealed that the victims were en route to Shani Local Government Area from Maiduguri in preparation for the All Progressives Congress campaign launch by the Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur, for the Southern Borno senatorial district.

In light of this devastating event, Kadafur decided to cancel the campaign rally and instead attended the victims’ funeral to offer his condolences to their families. He was accompanied by Senator representing Borno South, Sen. Mohammed Ali Ndume, Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulkareem Lawan, and other dignitaries.

The unfortunate incident led to the cancellation of the campaign rally by Umar Kadafur for the Southern Borno senatorial district, following which he attended the funeral of the victims to express his condolences to their families. He was accompanied by Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume and Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulkareem Lawan, among other notable figures.
