EFCC nabs cleric, twin brothers, 25 others for alleged yahoo business in Ilorin

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 28 individuals suspected of engaging in fraudulent activities commonly known as “Yahoo-Yahoo Boys” in Ilorin, Kwara State. The arrest was carried out following actionable intelligence on the activities of fraudsters in the Mandate Area, Ilorin. The individuals apprehended include a cleric, twin brothers, 6 students from various institutions, and a mining operator, among others, as per a statement released by the EFCC.

The arrested suspects comprise a diverse group, including a cleric named Toheeb Albarka, twin brothers Lambe Kehinde and Lambe Taye, individuals involved in dog trading such as Francis Stephen, Olabode Yusuf, and Musbaudeen Akorede, as well as undergraduates like Moshood Okunola, Kayode Aderemi, Ayobami Olorunfemi, Paul Ayomide, Agboola Marvellous, and Adebisi Olatunde.

Additional individuals apprehended include Olaleye Solomon, a miner; Akinade Samuel, a computer technician; Damilola Shagaya, a real estate developer; Muhammed Awal, a graphic designer; Adam Mubarak, an anti-money laundering analyst; Ogundiran Nathaniel, a tiler; Jamiu Ishola, a printer; Dauda Tunde, a plumber; Abdullahi Sikiru, a Bet 9ja agent; Kasali Afeez Adegoke, a web developer; Jordan Adeyinka, a wears/shoe dealer; and a driver named Ojeniyi Boluwatife. Additionally, Adedamola Samson, Olarewaju Adisa Taofeek, Adewale Oloro, and Omogbolahan Ibrahim were also among those arrested.

During the operation, the EFCC recovered ten exotic cars, various brands of laptops, cell phones, printers, and other items from the suspects. The agency is currently conducting further investigations, and the suspects will be prosecuted in court once these are concluded.
