Uncertainty in the Middle East continues to grow after the attack by the United States and Israel on Iran and all the bombings in the region that have taken place in recent days.
The conflict continues to grow after this Monday we heard Donald Trump affirm that the operation against Iran could last more than five weeks.
“What we are doing right now is eliminating the intolerable threats posed by this sick and sinister regime (…) We have already destroyed ten ships, they are at the bottom of the sea. Third, we are ensuring that the main sponsors of terrorism do not obtain nuclear weapons,” the US president said this Monday.
Along the same lines, the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, expressed that the objective of the attack was “to deny them the ability to use ballistic missiles to threaten their neighbors, our bases and our presence in the region” and threatened that “the hardest blows are yet to come.”
For its part, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz late on Monday and threatened to attack any ship that tries to cross the strategic crossing through which 20% of the world’s crude oil passes. “We will set fire to any ship that tries to cross the Strait of Hormuz,” said a general in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
Iranian state television and other areas of Tehran were the target of Israeli bombings on Monday night. The Israeli Army reported that its aircraft “attacked and dismantled the Iranian regime’s communications center.”
On a national level, the United States withdrew up to fifteen strategic aerial refueling aircraft from the bases of Morón de la Frontera (Seville) and Rota (Cádiz) after the refusal of the Government of Spain to provide assistance to the United States in its offensive.
On the other hand, Israel pointed the finger directly at Pedro Sánchez, wondering if he is on the “right side of history” after this refusal to help the United States.
