Legal Action Taken by Woman Against Ex-Husband for Failing to Fulfill Saudi Arabia Promise

Woman sues her ex-husband for failing to take her to Saudi Arabia

A lawsuit has been filed by a 45-year-old woman, Karima Nuhu, against her ex-husband, Musa Falalu, accusing him of failing to fulfill his promise of taking her to Saudi Arabia.

The lawsuit was submitted to a Shari’a Court in Rigasa, Kaduna, where the plaintiff, residing in the Rigasa area of Kaduna, claimed that during their four-year marriage, Falalu only provided her with food for two months.

According to her, Falalu informed her that he had lost his job as a driver but had secured a new one in Saudi Arabia, assuring her that he would take her along. She alleged, “So far, I have been feeding myself. I even loaned him money for the trip, but after achieving his goal, he divorced me.”

She stated that there were no witnesses besides God and emphasized her reliance on divine judgment. The defendant, however, denied the accusations, revealing that he had divorced the complainant.

The judge, Malam Anass Khalifa, affirmed the divorce and specified that the court would only consider the complainant’s claims if she could present other witnesses.
