Denial of Bail for Fubara’s Supporters by Abuja Court

In Abuja, a Federal High Court rejected bail requests presented by supporters of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, who are connected to the explosion at the state assembly.

The accused individuals, Chime Eguma Ezebalike, Prince Lukman Oladele, Kenneth Goodluck Kpasa, Osiga Donald, and Ochueja Thankgod, faced terrorism-related charges brought against them by the police for their alleged involvement in the bombing of the Rivers State House of Assembly in October 2023.

They were also implicated in the killing of several police officers.

On October 30, 2023, an explosion shook the Rivers State House of Assembly complex. The incident occurred amidst purported efforts by certain lawmakers to impeach Fubara. Reports suggested that suspected arsonists hurled an explosive into the complex around 9:25pm, leading to a fire in the building.

Nevertheless, the first to third defendants requested bail on the grounds of their health conditions.
