Oscars 2020: See the full list of winners
Yesterday, the 92nd Annual Academy Awards honored outstanding achievements in television and film at the Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles.
For the second time in a row, the award ceremony proceeded without a host, following the 2019 controversy that led to Kevin Hart stepping down from hosting over his homophobic tweets.
“Parasite” made history by winning the best picture award, becoming the first non-English language film to achieve this feat at the Oscars.
The South Korean film beat tough competition from “1917” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” to secure the best picture award, also claiming victories in the best international feature, best director, and best original screenplay categories.
“I’m speechless,” said Kwak Sin Ae, producer of “Parasite,” during her acceptance speech. “We never imagined this to ever happen. We are so happy.
For the leading role categories, Joaquin Phoenix won for his role in “Joker,” while Renée Zellweger won for her performance in “JUDY.”
