Peter Obi Responds to Allegations of Bribing Rufai Oseni

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has dismissed claims that he bribed Rufai Oseni of Arise TV.

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, had alleged that Obi provided financial support for Oseni’s father’s funeral.

Obi strongly refuted these allegations, stating that they were nothing more than “wicked blackmail” against a courageous journalist who consistently performs his duties professionally.

According to Obi, Oseni has always been devoted to upholding what is right and has fearlessly challenged him on several occasions.

“Normally, I do not engage in name-calling or mudslinging, nor do I attack individuals or attempt to defame their character throughout my political journey,” he expressed.

“I have also refrained from publicly responding to cheap, malicious blackmails that are thrown at me in an irresponsible manner.”

Obi affirmed that those familiar with his corporate and political life know that he focuses on addressing societal challenges and alleviating people’s suffering.

“Let me make it clear that this allegation is an outright lie. Anyone who understands my life can attest to the fact that I do not give money to anyone in exchange for promoting my name,” he declared.

“I have never made any monetary inducements to journalists to speak or write favorably about me.”

Obi emphasized that he always attends social events such as birthdays and funerals when invited, and many people can verify this fact.
