President Buhari’s Visit to the South East

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced that it will oppose any visit by President Muhammadu Buhari to the South East as long as its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, remains in detention.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the group revealed its knowledge of the President’s alleged plans to visit Ebonyi state. IPOB stated that it would enforce a complete lockdown in any South East state the President intends to visit.

Below is the statement released by IPOB:

“The attention of the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been drawn to the planned secret visit of Buhari to Ebonyi State. The secret visit, according to IPOB intelligence, is being facilitated by some All Progressives Congress politicians in the state.

IPOB will not accept any visit, whether secret or open, by Buhari to Biafraland while our leader is still in DSS cell. Our leader must be unconditionally released before Buhari considers any visit to Biafra land. Biafrans will lock down everywhere any day he ventures to visit Biafraland without releasing Nnamdi Kanu.

Biafrans must be prepared to lock down our territory any day he comes here in our region. Buhari has shown that he doesn’t like us. Our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu cannot be in detention, and we are welcoming Buhari in our region.

Biafrans will sit-at-home any day he decides to come and mock us. He will know that the few politicians telling him lies about us don’t have control over the people. Should he decide to proceed with the planned visit, Ebonyi will be on lock down.”
