Prince Andrew deletes his Twitter and Youtube accounts after being stripped of titles amid sex assault case

Prince Andrew’s Twitter and YouTube accounts are no longer available after he was stripped of his honorary military roles and HRH titles due to facing a US civil lawsuit over alleged sexual assault. The Duke of York’s Twitter page displayed a message saying “This account doesn’t exist” and his Instagram page has been set to private. His YouTube account has also been deleted.

Buckingham Palace has updated its website to reflect Prince Andrew’s new status as a private citizen. The website no longer lists his military posts and patronages and states that he will not use the title of His Royal Highness in any official capacity as he transitions away from public life.

Prince Andrew’s alleged victim, Virginia Giuffre, is suing him in the US for allegedly sexually assaulting her when she was a teenager. The prince denies the allegations.
